Printography Design Tool Review.

Printography Photo book review- Part 1

I have come across the printing company, Printography. Recently I did a photo-shoot and my client wanted to create a photo- flip book.

There are a lot of websites and printing companies around that offer customized photo books; but the main issue with many of them, for me, was limited customization. I wanted to create a book from total scratch and not have to worry about gaudy logos randomly being placed throughout the book.

When I found Printography, I was pleasantly surprised. First thing I noticed was the Download Design Tool. I fell in love with this company just at that moment. As a photographer I want my pictures to be presented in the nicest way possible, especially when the photographs are being printed.

You actually have to download the program, which is free and results in high quality prints. The program takes anywhere from fifteen to twenty minutes, from start to finish; depending on your internet speed, to download. Once the program is fully downloaded you are taken to the main screen, where you can create a new project or work on an existing one.

Half way through creating my photo-book, my computer died. Luckily, Printography saved my project and once I plugged everything in, I could start right back up from where I was cut off. Using an online program like ShutterFly, unfortunately if you close out of the internet or if your computer decides to take a nap, you usually lose your work. WHICH STINKS, big time! It's happened to me many times, which has resulted in late nights and crazy early mornings.

Actually using the design tool was quite simple, a lot of dragging a dropping. Everything was labeled nicely and easy to find. There is a design wizard set up, so if you click on something new it explains how to use it, in good detail. There are a few editing tools that I took full advantage of as well.

Overall, I love the program. It was quick, simple, and gave me what I wanted. Now I am just waiting on the book to arrive; hopefully the finished project looks as good as it does online (:
